Happy Friday!! February has been a super busy month with the start of the Life After 25: Intuitively Me Book Launch, so I’ve been out in the field working, networking and solidifying the structure of my business(es). I am featuring myself this week so that you may get to know me further .
My name is Misha Mayhand and I am the Editor-In-Chief of the Ambitious Mix Blog as well as the owner of the Ambitious Mix brand which houses the Get Motivated with Misha segment, home of the Ambitious Woman interviews and originally known as Metro Detroit’s Paparazzi for the Ambitious at Heart. Formally, known under the Pen name Intuitive Mimi, which my first book Ambition For Sale was written under. My 2nd book is due to debut April 8, 2017 , and I’m having a launch party for it in Berkley, MI.
AM: What is the title of your book and what prompted you to write it?
MM: The title of my book is Life After 25: Intuitively Me. I chose to write this book because I wanted to start being more transparent with my audience (even more transparent than I was already being) so that I could better connect with them in hopes to better assist them in overcoming the common obstacles that often slow us down in life.
AM: How did you come about doing what you do now and when was the passion for it born?
MM: I created the Ambitious Mix Blog back in 2011 for a school project but continued it thereafter because I love to write and tell stories. My initial plans for it was to give tips to my readers on a variety of topics as well as op-ed pieces on current events in the world in hopes to make them successful in all that they do while informing them and giving them access to useful info regularly. For instance, my first post was for new cat owners and I provided tips on picking out cat food, informed my readers of common habits that kittens possess and what it means when our feline friends react in certain ways towards us. I also wrote about the Aurora, Colorado shootings as they happened, while providing both facts and opinion on the topic. I wanted Ambitious Mix to be a news hub that invoked thought but also educated my readers.
I just wanted to be able to write about whatever I wanted with no restrictions. In 2013, upon graduating from college, I had a paradigm shift. I was going through a breakup but the future was still hopeful because I was done with school. My thought process was different and I knew I was going through a transition. By default, as a recent graduate my mind was on business and self-development so that is in turn what I started to write about.
I decided to erase my older posts and give the Ambitious Mix Blog a complete makeover so If you go back to my very first post, it is a self-development post in which I review a book called the Power of Focus for Women while also focusing on reflection and how it changed my mindset. The second thing I wrote about was money management. I just wanted my readers to join me on the journey to adulthood and to go about things most effectively. In my mind, the way we were going to do that was to constantly be educating ourselves. I also wanted to keep that news flair about my blog so I also provided monthly features on Ambitious Men or Women. I’d hoped that my readers would understand that the dream in their mind that they think about often, can be achieved with hard work and persistence.
AM: What are your plans going forward and how do you hope to impact society with your vision?
MM: My plans going forward are to create programs and resources available to my audience that assists them in changing their perspectives, provoking productivity and helping them to achieve their goals so that they’re one step closer living dream that means so much to them. I’m currently in the process of structuring a larger scale coaching business so that I may coach other business (minded) women on effectively marketing their businesses and/or organizations through content marketing and storytelling. One must represent their brand and there is always a story behind why someone does what they do. I want to help people tie the two together.
I really want people to understand that life is what you make it and that I go through a lot of the same things that they do but when you proactively take control of your mind and decide that everything is going to be OK, you will attract a positive outcome every time. We only have one life to live and it is up to us to make the most of it!
AM: What does Women Empowerment mean to you?
MM: Women Empowerment is everything to me! I have a special place in my heart for women and as a fellow feminist, I recently changed the focus of the Ambitious Mix Blog to focus primarily on women who are looking to become a better version of themselves. I decided to target women because they’re already a large part of my readership and I get a lot of support from women, so I wanted to give back to my biggest supporters and focus primarily on them. I allow other women to also submit guest posts to my blog so that they’re able to either speak their mind on a particular topic or further expose their own brands. I welcome EVERYONE but the ambitious (at heart) women are my target and focus.
AM: Where do you see yourself in five years?
MM: In five years, I see myself and my agency as a media marketing powerhouse. I will have about six more books published along with a successful talk show dedicated to helping you all become more Ambitious. I will be completely working for myself and my target clientele. Last but not least, In five years I’ll be someone’s wife and settling down to start a family (God-willing).
AM: Name something that you’ve always wanted to do
MM: I have always wanted to live outside of Michigan and I’m getting ready to make that a reality in a few months 🙂
Now that you’ve gotten to know me a little bit more, I want you to understand that this only just begins to scratch the surface of who I am and why it is that I do what I do. For one, I was called to do it by the most high. We are all called to do something in this world that involves serving others. Every single event that happens to you happens for a reason and so that’s why I want you to join me on this journey of unveiling YOUR greatest potential and by doing that I am sacrificing myself and stepping out of my comfort zone. I am being the most transparent and willing to share some of my life’s struggles thus far and how I’ve overcome them by taking control of my thoughts. My mental is where I draw my strength so my top priority will always be to nurture my mental health first.
I don’t know who I’m talking to directly but you need to be at the Life After 25 book launch. It’s time to make a change! If you’re not able to make the book launch then I challenge you to at least order the book. It’s time to DO Right And Kill Everything=D.R.A.K.E and never be afraid to invest in yourself!
Stay Ambitious, Stay Motivated!
